Dearest Chelonian Expo Exhibitors and Visitors,

A few days after the end of this event, we wish to thank you for actively taking part in the first edition of Chelonian Expo.

It was great to spend a few days in a beautiful location with you, with our common passion for turtles, in a serene and fully legal atmosphere, in cooperation with the State Forestry who was available to help exhibitors and their customers. It was a real pleasure meeting you and seeing you again in person, and your commitment is excellent!

We are pleased to have created an event we hope can become a fixed date for many turtle lovers, though we are aware there is room for further improvement and development.

Market exhibit dedicated to Turtles
Arezzo - Centro Affari e Convegni
1st and 2nd of May 2010 

Chelonian Expò is a market exhibit exclusively dedicated to turtles, where you’ll be able to purchase and sell animals from the best Italian and European farms absolutely legally, as well as find books and magazines, food and accessories for turtles. There will be turtles on sale, not just the most common ones – which are also very sought after – such as Testudo hermanni, marginata and graeca – but also many land tortoises, aquatic and swamp turtle varieties.
Also, Chelonian Expò will see the presence of expert veterinarians, biologists and organizations for turtle protection, at the public’s disposal to answer any queries concerning their health, their behaviour, their safeguarding and laws concerning them.
We look forward to welcoming you with your stand, table or even just to come visit us, to walk around so many wonderful animals and, why not, take home those animals you had been seeking for such a long time. Chelonian Expò will be held in Arezzo: easy to reach from anywhere in Italy and from Tuscany, Lazio, Umbria and Marche, all well known “turtle-loving” regions in particular.
Arezzo can easily be reached by trains and motorway from the rest of Europe and is close to the airports of Pisa and Florence. Chelonian Expò will be an excellent opportunity to indulge in your love for turtles as well as in good food and beautiful landscapes, all in one place!

The Tarta Etruria Association was created with the aim to promote and divulge information and knowledge on turtles, encourage proper farming and promote research on these animals, so as to safeguard their existence both in the wild and in captivity.
On the Association’s website www.tartaetruria.org (currently only in Italian) you can find information about the first objectives reached, which mostly concern genetics studies and setting up of protocols for a more correct and modern (as well as pain-free) DNA analysis, the programmes and the projects soon to be started, and you can also receive useful advice on the farming of the various turtle species and the interpretation of the legislations concerning protected species.
In order to finance new research Programmes and stimulate the turtle-loving public to a correct purchase, Tarta Etruria is organising Chelonian Expò, an event that will be held in Arezzo on the 1st and 2nd of May 2010.

Ringraziamo a nostra volta S.I.V.A.E. per il riscontro che darà al nostro evento, i proventi del quale, ricordiamo, saranno devoluti alla ricerca scientifica e, più in generale, alla tutela delle tartarughe. Ci auspichiamo che questo sia solo il primo passo di una fruttuosa cooperazione tra le nostre associazioni che condividono tra gli obiettivi fondanti quello del benessere animale.
